What is a Certificate of Analysis
A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is the lot-specific quality record issued for each manufactured batch.
Purpose
A COA documents that a specific lot was tested against its specification and records the measured results. It applies to one lot number only.
Typical fields
- Product name, catalog number and lot number
- Sequence or structure, molecular formula and theoretical molecular weight
- Appearance
- Purity by RP-HPLC (area %), with chromatogram
- Identity by mass spectrometry (observed vs. theoretical mass), with spectrum
- Counter-ion / salt form, and where tested, peptide content and water content
- Manufacture date, retest date and recommended storage
- QA release signature and date
Specification vs. result
The specification (e.g. ≥98%) is the acceptance limit; the result is the measured value for that lot. A lot is released only when every result meets specification.
Availability
COAs are available to approved institutional accounts on each product page and through lot lookup on the Quality & Documentation page. Products without released lot data show "COA pending".
For research use only. Not for human or veterinary use. Not for diagnostic or therapeutic use.
